DISTINGUISHED AWARDS
CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

Dear Friends,
I am very pleased to announce the call for nominations for the annual College of Business Advisory Council Awards: The Distinguished Businessperson’s Award, the Distinguished Professor Award and the Student Leader Award. Each award is designed to recognize extraordinary achievement in the particular category. On the attached pages you will find a full description of each award as well as a nomination form. These descriptions and forms can also be found on the College web site at http://www.business.mnsu.edu/awards.htm. The nomination forms and supporting documentation can either be faxed to the College at the fax number given below or mailed to the College at the address given below. The deadline for nominations is March 1, 2002.

These awards give our very distinguished Advisory Council the opportunity to bestow special and high level recognition to well deserving individuals. The Distinguished Businessperson’s Award recognizes the importance of our College of Business paying tribute to an individual who has successfully put ideas into action for the betterment of all. The Distinguished Professor Award helps us to acknowledge teaching, scholarship and service excellence. The Student Leader Award reinforces our commitment to our terrific students.

Nominations for all awards may be submitted by anyone except the nominee. They must be submitted using the forms below. The deadline for receiving nominations is March 1, 2002.

The Award Selection Committees will make the final selection of the award recipient(s). Recipients will be notified by May 1, 2002. The award will be presented at a special reception to be held in fall 2002. Nominators will also be notified of the selections by May 1, 2002.

Nomination form

Purpose
The College of Business Advisory Council Distinguished Businessperson’s Award is presented to any businessperson who has demonstrated extraordinary achievement. This achievement may be demonstrated not only in the realm of business but also in humanitarian and in community service endeavors. The Award aims to recognize those individuals who have made a significant difference in their area of focus.

Eligibility
In selecting an award recipient consideration will be given to nominees from all geographic locations and business professions. Current members of the Award Selection Committee and current full-time employees of Minnesota State University, Mankato may not be considered for the award.

The record of a nominee shall be maintained in a carry-over file for five years, after which a person must be renominated to be considered.

Nomination form

Purpose
The College of Business Advisory Council Distinguished Professor Award is presented to a College of Business professor who has demonstrated extraordinary devotion to teaching and learning at Minnesota State University, Mankato. The Award aims to recognize those individuals who have made a significant difference in the education of and in the lives of our students.

Eligibility
In selecting an award recipient consideration will be given to all nominees who at the time of their nomination were College of Business faculty members.

Purpose
The College of Business Advisory Council Student Leader Award is presented to a College of Business student who has demonstrated extraordinary leadership while a student at Minnesota State University, Mankato. The Award aims to recognize those individuals who have made a significant difference by their service to the University and/or to the college.

Eligibility
In selecting an award recipient consideration will be given to all nominees who at the time of their nomination were enrolled in the College of Business. Current members of the Award Selection Committee and current full-time employees of Minnesota State University, Mankato may not be considered for the award.
